MobbingOut

MobbingOut is an application designed to provide support to those who suffer or believe they are suffering from bullying at work. Through this platform, it offers useful information, professional legal and psychological help, and chat groups with former victims to share experiences and not feel alone. The app is aimed at anyone who needs help or information on this issue. In addition, MobbingOut accompanies those affected at all times, offering an external figure that objectifies the problem and provides the necessary support to overcome this difficult situation.

Behind

the Project

MobingOut is a project developed by four individuals: Raul Fernandez, Betty Bitea, Ana Lopez, and myself, Brian Fernandez. Throughout the design process, all four of us were involved in every aspect to ensure that we made solid and concise decisions.

Problem

Statement

The problem statement of MobbingOut is that there is a lack of support and resources for people who experience or may experience bullying in the workplace. This can lead to people feeling alone and unsure of how to handle the situation, and can have a negative impact on their mental health and work performance. MobbingOut aims to provide these individuals with the resources and support they need to deal with bullying at work

Goals

To provide a tool that can address many situations of mobbing and, if not, provide a solution before, during, and after the process.

Design Process
The project began with preliminary research, including literature review, analysis of official documents, and interviews with experts and potential users.

Insights from this research informed the information architecture and key app features.

Next, the visual design was developed and usability tests were conducted with real users. Feedback guided iterations, focusing on empathy and functionality to create an experience that empowers victims of workplace bullying.
User Persona
In the user analysis process, three user personas were created to represent different user profiles. These profiles were carefully selected to ensure that all relevant aspects of the product in question were covered. The profiles selected were those that are most affected by horizontal and hierarchical maternal dynamics. After carefully studying each profile, it was determined that the hierarchical profile was the most affected and suffered the most.

Persona: Johanna

A comprehensive investigation of the mobbing process was carried out, focusing on the profile that most frequently suffers from this phenomenon. In particular, hierarchical mobbing, which refers to harassment by superiors, was analysed. Through a detailed analysis, it was possible to determine the various dimensions that characterise this type of harassment, as well as the most common forms in which it manifests itself.

Strategic project plan
MobbingOut is a service designed to help victims and potential victims of harassment identify the problem and find solutions, offering clear information, advice from other victims, and professional guidance from psychologists and lawyers. Its business model is divided into a Freemium version, which includes access to support groups and basic information, and a Premium version, which provides paid vouchers for consultations with professionals. Although several iterations were made regarding its features, the distinction between free and paid services was always clear.

Style Guide
During the app design process, we iterated on low and medium fidelity wireframes to optimize the user experience. Once the core elements were defined, we refined typography, colours, and illustrations to create a sense of safety and comfort.
We chose Inter for legibility on mobile, and selected dark green (#115E59) and dark purple (#6B21A8) to convey calm and security. Illustrations and photographs were carefully chosen to align with the theme, and design components ensured visual consistency.
The app structure was made intuitive, allowing users to navigate easily. User testing validated our design decisions, receiving positive feedback on style and usability.
